The Korean Government Scholarship Programme (KGSP) — officially the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) — is South Korea’s flagship international scholarship and one of the most comprehensive fully-funded packages in the world. It is open to Nepali students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The 2026 Embassy Track intake closes in June 2026.

Eligibility for Nepali Students
- Nepali citizen, not holding Korean citizenship
- UG applicants: Under 25 years old; completed NEB +2 or A-Levels
- PG applicants: Under 40 years old; completed bachelor’s degree
- Cumulative GPA of 80% or above (or equivalent)
- Good health — medical examination required
Embassy Track vs. University Track
Embassy Track: Apply through Nepal’s Embassy in Seoul or Korea’s Embassy in Kathmandu. Nepal has a reserved quota — highly competitive but you get institutional support. Deadline: early June 2026.
University Track: Apply directly to a designated Korean university. No nationality quota — open competition. Usually runs 2–3 months after Embassy Track.
